Starring opposite Prateik Babbar, Jackson says of her role: “I play Jessie who comes from a very reserved family, where things like boyfriends, staying out late and partying are totally out of the question. Jessie gets her world turned upside down when she meets Sachin, played by Prateik, and it’s basically a really sweet story that everyone.

Before Bollywood came calling, Jackson admits she had not seen a single Indian film. Now she’s learning Hindi and taking dance classes. She says being English has not been a hindrance in her attempt to feel like she’s part of the Mumbai film industry.

She’s already signed up for several film projects. “I start my next movie in March and have two others after that.”

The first is the Telugu film Yevadu, directed by Vamsi Paidipally, while another is a romance to be shot entirely in San Francisco, proving that not even filming in three different languages – Teluga, Hindi and English – can faze India’s latest leading lady.

Amy Jackson reportedly had some oops moments during the premier of her latest movie Ekk Deewana Tha. She choose to wear saree for this function and may be not aware that she is revealing more than required.

“Ekk Deewana Tha” is the Hindi remake of Tamil film, Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa. The film is written and directed by Gautham Menon, featuring Prateik Babbar and Amy Jackson in their Bollywood debut, and in lead roles. The film was released on 17th February 2012 in two different versions with a number of endings to suit the taste of regional viewers. The film opened to overwhelmingly negative reviews by Indian film critics and has done very poorly at the Indian box office.

The film was shoot in different locations like Mumbai, Kerala, Chennai, Taj Mahal, Agra and Delhi. The cast includes Prateik Babbar, Amy Jackson, Sachin Khedekar, Samantha, Ashwin Kakumanu, Babu Antony, Ramesh Sippy, Vikas Menon.

Ekk Deewana Tha is Gautham Menon’s Hindi remake of his hit Tamil film Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya. Prateik Babbar and Amy Jackson are doing the lead pair in Ekk Deewana Tha. Prateik Babbar plays Sachin — the quintessential Maharashtrian middle-class romantic. He watches films, mooches off his older buddy Manu Rishi. Amy Jackson plays Jessie, the ‘docile’ middle-class girl who dutifully sets off for office each morning with her laptop bag and immaculately draped sarees. Prateik’s career hasn’t really taken off so he spends his days planning on how he can bump into Jessie. The ‘accidental’ meetings which happened at bus stops through the ’70s and ’80s now happen at the closest Mcdonalds.

Prateik Babbar does accept that he has feelings for Amy. “I have a crush on her and she knows it,” he smiles. While Prateik and Amy haven’t officially spoken about it, rumour mills are working overtime about their alleged relationship. All Prateik says is, “When you shoot for a romantic film for almost six months, you have no choice but to have chemistry (with your co-star). These kind of link-ups are bound to happen.”
